Farewell from Outgoing Director
As I prepare to retire after nearly two decades with the Rural Northern California Clinical Simulation Center, I find myself reflecting not only on what has been accomplished, but on the remarkable people and partnerships that made it possible.
Since opening our doors in 2006, the SimCenter has served as a shared resource dedicated to improving patient safety through clinical proficiency, teamwork, and innovation. What began as a collaborative vision has grown into a trusted regional center supporting nursing education, healthcare organizations, and community partners throughout Northern California. Along the way, thousands of learners have developed skills, confidence, and professional judgment in a safe environment designed to enhance real-world patient care.

The true strength of the SimCenter has always been its people. I am deeply grateful to the faculty, staff, students, healthcare professionals, volunteers, advisory board members, and community partners who have contributed their time, expertise, and support. The enduring partnership between Chico State's School of Nursing, Enloe Health, and Oroville Hospital has demonstrated what can be achieved when organizations work together toward a common purpose.
I am especially proud of the spirit of collaboration that has guided our work. By sharing resources, knowledge, and opportunities across the North State, we have strengthened healthcare education and helped prepare generations of healthcare professionals to serve our communities.
Looking to the future, I do so with confidence. The SimCenter is well positioned to continue its mission, adapt to new challenges, and remain a valued resource for the region. It has been a privilege to be part of this journey, and I leave with gratitude, pride, and optimism for what lies ahead. I feel blessed to have shared in the work, relationships, and accomplishments that have made the Rural SimCenter such a special place.
